It looks like that config is up to over $2800 now. I think it took about a week to "build" and a couple of days to deliver. This was during a recent sale period, about $2250 before service plans, taxes, etc. The gaming models differ some, might be worth looking at, especially if considering using an external monitor. I just got (ordered 4/11) a Dell XPS 17 laptop. If it were me, I'd be budgeting at least $2k on the computer itself, and then whatever you want to spend on a monitor. Prices on the secondary market are through the roof, and availability from retailers is nonexistent if you aren't running a bot to buy things for you. The market on parts, specifically video cards, is absurd right now. You're probably best off looking for a prebuilt. (Other specs are a 3700x processor, 32gb RAM and working from a NVMe SSD.) I don't necessarily need specific recommendations, but in terms of CPU and graphics processing capability (I understand that the latter is key here), what might I be looking for and how much might I expect to spend? Here are the parameters of my XPS15: Intel Core 2.60 GHz 2.60 GHz. One factor here is that I am often processing RAW files from a Nikon Z7, which has a 45.75 megapixel sensor. It takes several minutes to process a large RAW image in either add-on, and if I use both for an image the whole post-processing time is quite long. However, it has become apparent that my Dell XPS15 9550 laptop is not up to the task. Used judiciously (I am still figuring out what that means, exactly), these are terrific tools. Recently, I have added Topaz DeNoise AI and now DxO PureRaw to my workflow. I use Adobe Photoshop for post-processing. I know a powerful desktop with large monitor(s) would be better, but because of space considerations and also the flexibility offered by a laptop, I have gravitated towards a laptop in recent years.
